For when you need to put ordnance on someones doorstep. Literally.

Laser Guided

Laser Guided weapons use a laser source either from an aircraft or a ground unit to direct final terminal guidance to the bomb. This allows them to hit a moving target and the weapon can be released from an aircraft that is not the one designating the target (Buddy Lasing).

Inertially Guided (Joint Direct Attack Munition)

Inertially guided weapons use a combination of INS and GPS for guidance from the time it leaves the aircraft pylon until impact. It is important to note that once the weapon is released it is only able to attack the point in space that it was sent to, and therefore unable to track or hit a moving target.
