Tribunal: The Hoggit Cases

Tribunal: The Hoggit Cases (marketed in various countries as Judge Lawl and Teamkills) is an American reality television show produced by Hoggit. Its first and current season aired on 17 July 2019 on Discord. It was the most-viewed show in 2019 and is one of the fastest-growing reality TV series.

Episode format

Each episode of Tribunal: The Hoggit Cases covers a particular incident, usually a teamkill, on either Georgia at War, Persian Gulf at War, or the Training Server. Lawlcat, often called "Judge Lawl," presides over most case, although guest appearances are often made by other Hoggit staff members. pops began appearing frequently toward the end of season 1 and is cast as a secondary protagonist in season 2, slated for late 2020.

In a surprise announcement, it was announced that the show was picked up for a second season slated to air during the Spring of 2021. Episodes are expected to air on a "when they happen" basis. It is rumored that Judge Lawl will not be able to appear in the second season due to a scheduling issue, and will be replaced with a new cast of judges.

Each episode has a defendant who faces "the People of Hoggit", sometimes with witnesses who have been teamkilled. In some cases the witness is the one who brings the situation to the attention of the judicial board, while other times the defendant will request an un-ban. There have been various recurring witnesses. Mr.Assists has become an Internet meme after becoming the most teamkilled player on the Hoggit server, appearing in over 20 episodes.

The case is brought up at the beginning of the episode. Judge Lawl or a subordinate reviews the case. If the ban was automatic, Judge Lawl usually upholds the previous verdict. Other times, he will decide what to do with the defendant based on the situation presented, e.g. mitigating factors.

Typically, the investigation consists of the defendant saying they did not kill any players, with Judge Lawl then presenting a Tacview demonstrating that they actually killed a large amount of players. In cases where defendants are determined to be in the wrong, usually the option of presenting a formal essay is provided.

Response

Tribunal: The Hoggit Cases received an overwhelmingly positive response from critics. Over 59 critics gave the show the highest possible score.

The show has gained a noteworthy celebrity response. United States President Donald Trump tweeted that he "really enjoyed" the show and praised Lawlcat's judgement in a Fox News interview, saying he watches the show every morning. He offered Lawlcat the position of Attorney General of the United States, but he did not accept the nomination.

Pope Francis, in a rare statement, said the show brought him 'overwhelming joy' and that he recommended all Catholics to watch at least one episode per week for their spiritual health. Francis reportedly watches the show with Latin subtitles as a learning aid, claiming the bullshit provided by defendants consist of very wide vocabularies and many unique ways of twisting language to stretch and entirely alter the truth.

Tribunal: The Hoggit Cases has had two seasons thus far, with Season 1 being released in 2019 and Season 2 being released in 2021.

Season 1

Season 1 of Tribunal: The Hoggit Cases originally aired in 2019 to audiences around the world. Although a massive hit among audiences, reruns of the first season are few and far between after the original tapes for the season were destroyed in a tragic Tanker-shootdown incident. There are fan-made initiatives to try and recover the lost episodes, and fans seem to disagree on whether the first season had 30 or 31 episodes.

Episode ??? - Nuclear Scare

Date Aired: 30th of June, 2020

Verdict: Kobuleti saved from nuclear annihilation

Episode Summary:

Derp, a brave citizen of Hoggitopia, was on an early morning check of his airbase's inventory when he noticed a MiG-21 missing from the parking area. The lost MiG was soon found when an unknown pilot was spotted taking off from taxiways and into traffic while cutting off pilots on landing. An unknown ordinance was also spotted below his aircraft.

As the events transpired, a quartermaster from Hoggit's 452nd Ordinance Wing rung the alarm when he found an RN-28 Nuclear Bomb to me missing from the local stockpile. The Hoggit Nuclear Treaty Compliance Agency (HNTCA) was called, with field agent LazyBoot being dispatched to investigate the missing bomb.

One and one was soon put together and the runaway aircraft was identified as the one carrying the thermonuclear weapon. Simple geometrical investigation soon led investigators to believe the runaway aircraft was headed to Kobuleti, where LazyBoot raced to intercept it before the thermonuclear bomb could be released.

For a while it seemed like LazyBoot was going to save the day, but quite sadly terrible traffic kept him from arriving at the interception point before he could intercept the runaway aircraft. All seemed lost for a moment when the runaway pilot released his RN-28 thermonuclear bomb at Kobuleti, only for LazyBoot to save the day by throwing a Hammer of Banning up into the sky and evaporating the thermonuclear bomb and crashing the MiG-21.

Forensic investigation of the human remains at the crash site identified the pilot as a nobody named Kjell.

Kjell's remains sprung to life nearly a year later to apologize for his sins. He expressed the fact he had changed and hoped for another chance to fly again but has yet to receive a reply.

Season 2

Season 2 of Tribunal: The Hoggit Cases was announced on the 22nd of April, 2021. The show has been picked up by a new network that announced they will release episodes on a "when they happen" basis.

Episode 0 - Blues Bad

Episode Summary: This teaser episode was released at the same time the second series was announced and shows a witness by the name of Denneldoe bringing evidence of corrupt activies perpetrated by the Hoggit Police Deparmtent (Hoggit P.D., "The Blues) to light. The teaser is cut short when judge GorgeFodder, who looks surprisingly similar to the pilot of the aircraft shown in the evidence video, dismisses the case on the grounds that the evidence was not obtained through legal means.

Episode 1 - Brotherly Woes

Verdict: Guilty, two months in Hoggit Jail.

Episode Summary: On the sunny 25th of April, a poor aviator by the name of Silens fell victim to multiple acts of trolling on the TNN Server. Smoke bombs and rockets were hurled in the way of both him and other innocent bystanders, and an armed confrontation ensued when Silens mentioned calling the Hoggit Feds. It has been reported that Mark 82s were used to do great harm to our poor hero.

As Hoggit Federal Police Special Investigator Blackbird approached the scene, our perpetrator returned to the scene with the name "Silens Sucks". He was quickly identified and taken into custody awaiting trial.

The trial initially reached the Honorable Judge GorgeFodder's courtroom, with the accused party, who goes by the name of Jgord, claiming to be innocent of the crimes in place of his brother, who supposedly committed the misdeeds that dreary Saturday afternoon. Jgord claimed he has an alibi in not being near his computer when the events transpired and expressed the fact his brother had gained access to his device at the time, something the Honorable Judge doubted.

Jgord continued to claim his victim had already forgiven him, even though his brother had apparently committed the criminal acts. He furthermore asked to be unbanned even though he did not express any explicit remorse for either his or his brothers deeds. Upon being told he will not be let back onto Hoggit if the chance his brother hijacks his computer again exists, he apologized for the events that transpired and tried to plea to the court that it was a one off incident.

On the 26th of April, the defendant reached out to the court to make another plea for his freedom. He explained how sorry he was and offered to take a temporary ban as he had been forgiven by his victim apparently. The defendant also declares his love for the Hoggit servers where he wants to use his new module.

His Honorable Judge pops does not seem very moved and explains the defendant does not get to choose his punishment, not long later the Honorable Judge GorgeFodder tells the defendant he will have to spend two months in Hoggit Jail. Case closed.
