Overview

The Stores Management System (SMS) page is used to manage stores and weapons, and has various functions depending on what master mode is currently selected, and what weapon is currently selected. SMS pages that are specific to weapons (AGM-88, AGM-65, etc.) will be covered in their respective weapons sections.

NAV Mode

NAV SMS.jpg

The SMS page in NAV Mode is simply an inventory page displaying what stores are currently loaded.

S-J Page

SMS S-J.jpg

S-J, or Selective Jettison, is accessed by pressing OSB#11 S-J on the NAV SMS page. It can also be accessed from the SMS in all other master modes. Pressing the S-J OSB will return to the main SMS page of that master mode.

Selecting a store to jettison is done by simply pressing the OSB corresponding to that store, which will then be highlighted. A subsequent press of that OSB will deselect the store. In some cases the adapter rail for that weapon will also be displayed and can be jettisoned along with the weapon. In this case, one press of the OSB will select the weapon and a second press will select the adapter rail in addition to the weapon. To jettison the selected stores, ensure that MASTER ARM is set to ARM and depress the pickle button while in the S-J page. Note that jammer pods cannot be jettisoned.

Stores selected. Note that both weapon and adapter are selected on the right hardpoint.

A-A Mode

A-A SMS.jpg

Missile information is displayed in the A-A master mode. Note that at the bottom 1 M 8 9 are stations loaded with air to air weapons. M in this case is for a heat-seeking missile. The stores can be cycled by pressing the NWS/MSL Step on the HOTAS.

AAM
OSB#1; Currently selected master mode. Pressing this OSB will select the A-A gun mode.
INV
OSB#4; Inventory page. Takes you to SMS Inventory page much like that of NAV Mode SMS.
CNTL
OSB#5; Control page, not implemented.
2 A120B
OSB#6; Currently selected weapon. Can be cycled by pressing this OSB.
S-J
OSB#11; Selective Jettison page.
UNKN
OSB#18; Pressing this OSB cycles through UNKN, SMALL, MED, LARGE and is the target size for which the AIM-120 is searching for. Whether it actually works in BMS is unknown.
SLAV
OSB#19; Pressing this OSB cycles between SLAV and BORE. In SLAV the missile is slaved to the FCR. In BORE the missile is fired by boresight.

MRM Mode

Essentially the same as the SMS in A-A master mode.

DGFT Mode

DGFT SMS.jpg

Again, very similar to the SMS page in A-A and MRM modes, with some additional information.

EEGS
OSB#2; cycles gun sight modes (EEGS/LCOS)
51GUN
Current gun ammunition (510 rounds displayed)
WARM
OSB#8; cycles Sidewinder seeker cooling between WARM and COOL. While in the air it automatically goes to COOL when entering DGFT mode.

The SMS page in A-G master mode is probably the largest chunk with the most features, and is used to set bombing profiles.

2 SGL
OSB#8; pressing this OSB will set bombs to be released as singles (SGL) or pairs (PAIR). The number will change depending on the Release Pulses.
350FT
OSB#9; Impact spacing in feet. Pressing this OSB will allow you to change the impact spacing (max 999FT).
RP

Changing the Impact Spacing is as simple as pressing the OSB corresponding to a number and pressing ENTR.

AD1 and AD2 are for iron bombs. AD and BA are for CBUs. Editing these values is the same as editing the Release Pulses and Impact Spacing; however, ENTR will advance the scratchpad and return you to the main A-G SMS page. RTN will also return you to the main A-G SMS page.

Release Angle

A-G SMS rel ang.jpg

Release Angle for Lofting. Edited in the same manner as Release Pulses, Impact Spacing, AD, and BA.
